Can someone explain to me why the minimum application of windows reduces memory usage?

For example, I show Visual Studio 800 megapixels memory usage in Task Manager, then I reduce the Visual Studio app window and memory usage now shows only 50 MB of Task Manager. It seems that all the Windorfs are in the apples.
